After the festivities a few thoughts about Big Data. Should we keep it all in one place to make it easy to use, or would that make it far too easy to misuse? They don't seem to keep it all together in Australian as an "Irate Citizen" complains.

ESOS, the Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme, comes into effect in 2015. Most organisations, from the largest SMEs upwards, will have to report. Not as onerous as CRC and more likely to save you money. If we burn all the receoverable fossil fuels we'll trigger catastrophic global warming. In fact there's a serious risk if we burn more than 20%.

The Rockefeller Foundation has decided to sell its investments in oil, gas and coal and buy renewables instead. Meanwhile Drax power station, the largest and dirtiest in the UK, is converting to biomass.
